Backbase | (Services) Technical Director

We are seeking a driven and experienced Technical Director to join our Professional Services team in Dubai. This role will be instrumental in leading technical delivery, architecting solutions, and providing expert guidance to both our internal teams and clients across the Middle East. Description What you'll be doing:

Lead technical engagements: Serve as the primary technical leader for implementations of the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform, ensuring successful delivery from architecture to deployment.

Solution architect: Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions aligned with client requirements and Backbase best practices, specifically within the financial services sector.

Team leadership & mentorship: Guide and mentor a team of technical consultants and engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality, on-time project execution.

Technical expertise & advocacy: Act as a subject matter expert on the Backbase platform, advocating for its capabilities and driving its adoption within client organizations.

Client relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, understanding their business needs and translating them into technical solutions.

Pre-sales support: Provide technical support during the pre-sales process, including participating in presentations, demonstrations, and proposal development.

Quality Assurance: Oversee code reviews, technical designs, and testing strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality, performant solutions.

Continuous improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and Backbase product updates, and continuously strive to improve technical processes and methodologies.

What you will bring:

10+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in professional services or consulting within the financial services industry.

Proven track record of successfully delivering complex enterprise-level software implementations.

Deep expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and enterprise integration patterns.

Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python) and related frameworks.

Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Solid understanding of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and API design principles.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate high-performing technical teams.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
