Application Architect

Responsibilities

As an Application Architect, you will be responsible for:

• Inventorying and analyzing business needs and translating these into PLM processes and solution architectures.
• Designing and maintaining a consistent and robust PLM architecture.
• Evaluating change proposals and implementing improvements where necessary.
• Aligning with internal stakeholders and end-users to clarify requirements.
• Ensuring correct execution and implementation of architectural and process designs.
• Supporting incident resolution and initiating structural improvements.
• Guiding, training, and supporting key users.

Requirements

As an Application Architect, you possess:

• HBO (Bachelor's professional education) thinking and working level, preferably demonstrated by a relevant diploma.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter (Siemens), PDM, PLM, and/or CAD.
• The ability to connect business, engineering, and IT.
• The ability to think conceptually with a pragmatic implementation mentality.
• Experience with complex, custom-driven environments is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills and comfort in a stakeholder-rich context.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).

• A salary up to €8,000 based on a 40-hour work week (salary depends on knowledge and experience).

As an Application Architect, you play a key role within the IT and engineering landscape. You are responsible for shaping, monitoring, and further developing PLM solutions that form the backbone of the product development and production process. You operate in a complex engineer-to-order environment, where data consistency, process alignment, and scalability are crucial.

You translate strategic and operational needs from the organization into clear architectures, process designs, and functional solutions. In doing so, you continuously pay attention to coherence, reusability, and future-proofing. You work intensively with stakeholders from engineering, production, and IT and act as a substantive sparring partner for change and improvement initiatives.

Once designs have been developed and aligned, you carefully transfer them to the management teams and ensure qualitative implementation and embedding within the organization.
