Introduction

Applied Materials is seeking a visionary security leader to be the primary architect for AI security. This role focuses on safeguarding the next generation of materials science innovation by securing the company's use of Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic technologies. You will be hands-on with Python and TypeScript, building technical guardrails to enable rapid iteration without compromising intellectual property.

Responsibilities

• Design security patterns for MCP servers and AI gateways.
• Conduct red-team exercises against prompt injection and model poisoning.
• Define the 'paved road' for developers utilizing copilots and custom agents.
• Act as a bridge between high-level governance and cutting-edge AI implementation.
• Lead the definition of data boundaries and identity management in an AI-first world.

Requirements

• Over a decade of experience in the security space.
• Strong understanding of prompt-driven development and agent orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience in designing, building, and implementing technical security controls.
• Ability to move beyond traditional AppSec to master Agentic Security.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-assisted 'vibe coding' or a strong interest in this methodology.
