Introduction

OpenAI is seeking a driven AI Deployment Engineer with a product mindset to join their AI Deployment Engineering team. This role focuses on ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises, serving as a trusted advisor to help customers transform their businesses with AI solutions. The position is based in Sydney, Australia, with a hybrid work model (3 days in office per week) and relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities

• Deeply embed with strategic platform customers as a technical lead, providing technical thought partnership to ideate and build novel applications using the OpenAI API.
• Collaborate with senior customer stakeholders to identify high-value GenAI applications and build/qualify a comprehensive backlog to support their AI roadmap.
• Directly intervene to accelerate customer time-to-value through hands-on prototyping and impactful strategic guidance.
• Forge and manage relationships with customer leadership and stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and scaling of applications.
• Contribute to OpenAI's open-source developer and enterprise resources.
• Scale the Solutions Architect function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing notebooks to internal and external repositories.
• Validate, synthesize, and deliver high-signal feedback to the Product and Research teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of technical consulting (or equivalent) experience, effectively bridging technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Effective and polished communicator capable of translating business and technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Proven experience leading complex implementations of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions.
• Knowledge of network/cloud architecture.
• Industry experience in programming languages like Python or JavaScript.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end and proactively acquire missing knowledge to complete tasks.
• Humble attitude, eagerness to help colleagues, and a desire to contribute to team success.
• Effective, high-throughput operator who can manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize ruthlessly.
