Account Manager Industry (Utilities)

Introduction

Sopra Steria Netherlands is looking for an energetic Account Manager with 3+ years of experience to expand existing client relationships and acquire new clients within the Utilities sector. You will represent various services including secondment, projects, and digital solutions, working closely with an experienced Account Director and a sourcing specialist.

Responsibilities

• Expand existing customer relationships within the Utilities sector.
• Acquire new customers within the Utilities sector.
• Represent our services: secondment, project delivery, and digital solutions.
• Prepare and follow up on client meetings, proposals, and tenders.
• Quickly master substantive themes, market dynamics, and client challenges.
• Collaborate with consultants, recruiters, delivery leads, and your sales team.
• Monitor and capitalize on commercial opportunities in the market.
• Listen before selling: ask the right questions, build empathy, and explicitly define the real problem.
• Stakeholder mapping and alignment: navigate smoothly between purchasing, business, and IT, and build support.
• Storytelling: link customer ambitions to concrete results and communicate this clearly and convincingly.
• Co-creation: facilitate sessions to develop workable solutions with the client.
• Build long-term relationships: deliver on promises, communicate proactively, and build trust.
• Professional integrity: act ethically, carefully, and with respect for everyone's perspective.

Requirements

• Master's degree (e.g., Business Administration or similar), preferably completed nominally.
• 3+ years of work experience; affinity with IT is a plus.
• Organizational sensitivity and a sharp commercial acumen.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Not afraid to cold call; experience with commercial secondment agencies is a plus.
• Enormous drive, eagerness to learn, and ownership; available full-time and flexible work attitude.
• Excellent command of Dutch and a good basic understanding of English.
• Dutch language skills preferred (working knowledge required for this role based in the Netherlands).
